Adult volunteers are the backbone of the Air Cadets and we're always on the lookout for high-calibre individuals to become volunteers. Squadron Officer Commanding


                            Rachelle joined 354 (Dover) Squadron in 2000. Rachelle rose through the ranks and in 2005
                            was
                            promoted to Cadet Warrant Officer. During her time Rachelle achieved her Silver Gliding
                            Scholarship
                            Wings, Represented Kent Wing at Hockey where they achieved a Silver Medal and she attended
                            many
                            RAF
                            Base Camps at RAF Brize Norton, RAF Coningsby and RAF St Mawgan.<br><br>

                            Rachelle turned 20 in 2007 and immediately continued as Sgt RAFAC at Dover. After a short 6
                            month
                            secondment to 2235 (Deal) Squadron, Rachelle returned taking up the position of Training
                            officer,
                            Stores officer and Deputy in Charge. In January 2013 Rachelle was promoted to F/S RAFAC. In
                            2020
                            Rachelle took on the role as Squadron Adjutant. In 2021 Rachelle decided to take a Cadet
                            Forces
                            Commission. Due to her previous service as Flight Sergeant she was appointed the rank of
                            Flying
                            Officer. In September 2021 after a short 6 month secondment to 305 (Ashford) Squadron,
                            Rachelle
                            took
                            command of the Squadron. In March 2022 Rachelle was promoted to Flight Lieutenant.

RAFAC Commissioned Officers

Ben is currently down under in Australia on a work secondment and is assisting with
                             the Australian Air Force Cadets whilst he is there. Ben transferred from 99 (Folkestone)
                             Squadron to 354 (Dover) Squadron in December 2021. Before his temporary leave from the
                             squadron, Ben was the Squadron Adjutant and as part of his role as the Kent Wing Deputy
                             Shooting Officer, he helped to develop the squadron’s shooting programme and get more
                             cadets involved in the shooting programme. In April 2023, Ben received his promotion to
                             Flying Officer.

RAFAC Non-Commissioned Officers

James joined 2316 (Sheppey) Squadron as a cadet back in January 2001 moving up the
                             ranks during his time there and ultimately reaching the rank of Cadet Warrant Officer.
                             After reaching the maximum age to be a cadet, James became a Civilian Instructor in 2007
                             and in 2012 decided to take the step into uniform and become an Adult Sergeant RAFAC. In
                             April 2022 he was then promoted to Flight Sergeant RAFAC.James acts a supernumerary for
                             Dover squadron with his main squadron still being 2316 (Sheppey) Squadron, however due to
                             his job as a Coastguard based in Dover, he attends to support Dover squadron when his
                             shifts dictate.
James joined 354 (Dover) Squadron in 2002 as a cadet and rose through the ranks being
                             promoted to Cadet Flight Sergeant in 2005. During his time as a cadet achieved his Silver
                             Gliding Scholarship Wings and attended RAF Base Camps at RAF Brize Norton and RAF Lyneham.
                             In 2006 James did a short stint as a civilian instructor leaving in 2008, however he
                             decided to re-join the squadron in 2010. In 2011 he decided to go into uniform and become
                             an Adult Sergeant RAFAC. James has completed his Basic Expedition Leaders Award and has
                             become the Squadron Duke of Edinburgh Award Officer.  In 2020, he decided to take on a new
                             challenge by taking on the responsibility of the squadron’s Drill and Discipline.
Naomi joined the squadron as a cadet in August 2014 and rose through the ranks,
                             staying on as an over 18 cadet, and achieving the rank of Flight Sergeant.  During her time
                             as a cadet, Naomi attended many camps and courses that are on offer including achieving her
                             BTEC Aviation, BTEC Teamwork & Personal Development, Bronze Duke of Edinburgh and so much
                             more. In October 2021, Naomi aged out as a cadet but immediately became an Adult Sergeant
                             RAFAC and has since taken on the role as the squadron’s Training Officer.
Rob started his cadet career at 312 (City of Canterbury) Squadron and became a
                             cadet Corporal.  After his time as a cadet, he became a Civilian Instructor and has since
                             moved to 2235 (Deal) Squadron before transferring to 354 (Dover) Squadron. When Rob first
                             joined the squadron, he became the squadron’s Training Officer. Rob now performs the role
                             of Health and Safety Officer within the Squadron. In February 2023, Rob decided that he
                             wanted to take on a new challenge within the Air Cadets and became an Adult Sergeant
                             RAFAC.

Civilian Instructors

Terri joined the Air Cadets as a cadet with 2433 (Ramsgate) Squadron. After her time
                             as a cadet, she became a Civilian Instructor at Ramsgate before moving to Dover in June
                             2019. Terri joined the squadron as the Band Master to help grow the Squadron Band and is
                             continuing in this role with the aim to get a public performing band set up.
Ricky joined 51 (Orton) Squadron as a cadet in July 2002 and upon leaving the
                             squadron in 2008 had achieved the rank of sergeant. During his time as a cadet, he
                             achieved his Bronze and Silver Duke of Edinburgh award and attended RAF Base Camps at RAF
                             Kinloss, RAF Valley and RAF Boulmer. Ricky joined 354 (Dover) Squadron in October 2022 and
                             has since taken on the role of the squadron’s Adjutant.
